Stone Cutting Machine Operator Apprentice

About the role

Newmatic Countertops Limited is expanding its standardized countertop factory in Kenya and seeks a motivated apprentice to support stone cutting operations. You will work alongside experienced machine operators, learn to handle sintered stone, quartz, granite and marble, and develop the skills needed to become a qualified machine operator.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in loading, positioning and unloading stone slabs on cutting machines.
• Support experienced operators in cutting sintered stone, quartz, granite, marble or similar materials according to production orders and drawings.
• Check material type, slab number, size and cutting requirements before each operation.
• Verify cutting accuracy after work is completed and report any dimension, drawing, material or machine issues immediately.
• Maintain a clean and safe machine area and follow all factory safety rules.
• Help the production team meet deadlines by supporting timely completion of tasks.

Required profile

• Willingness to learn stone cutting and machine operation.
• Hardworking, punctual and honest.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety rules.
• Basic understanding of measurements in millimetres is an advantage.
