About the role
The Supplies Coordinator is responsible for organising and controlling aircraft spares and tools within the warehouse. The role ensures that all items are securely stored, handled, and issued in line with airworthiness requirements and company quality standards, supporting the operational schedules of Kenya Airways and other operators.
Key responsibilities
- Manage warehousing, handling, and issuance of aircraft spares and tools in compliance with airworthiness and quality standards.
- Maintain secure access to the stockroom following Maintenance Organization Exposition procedures.
- Oversee inventory levels using software such as OASES, ensuring at least 98% stock accuracy.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and quality criteria.
- Organise warehouse storage efficiently with appropriate shelving, labelling, and space utilisation.
- Coordinate distribution of materials to users or other warehouses based on demand and production schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OEM guidelines, and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inventory transactions, orders, and shipments, and generate regular reports.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise warehouse operations and reduce costs.
Required profile
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management or Commerce, OR a Diploma in a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar warehouse role; aviation experience preferred.
- In‑depth knowledge of inventory and supply‑chain management principles.
- Familiarity with KCAA/EASA regulations is advantageous.
- Training in handling Dangerous Goods and forklift certification are added benefits.
Required skills
- Proficiency with OASES or similar inventory management software.
- MRP system experience.
- Forklift operation and certification.
- Knowledge of KCAA/EASA regulatory requirements.
- Dangerous goods handling procedures (MSDS compliance).
- Computer literacy for data entry and reporting.
