Warranty Engineer

About the role

The Warranty Engineer will manage and progress warranty, maintenance reserve, guarantee and insurance claims to protect Kenya Airways' financial interests and ensure product quality. The role involves close interaction with aircraft, engine and component data, vendors, lessors and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Compile maintenance records and initiate maintenance reserve compensation claims with lessors.
• Identify warranty‑eligible restorations, modifications and inspections and submit claims to vendors.
• Monitor contractual terms, detect deviations and trigger recovery actions.
• Track performance metrics (MTBF/MTBR) and pursue guarantee compensation when thresholds are not met.
• Collect incident data and coordinate insurance claims through the airline’s insurance department.
• Extract, compile and circulate entitlement and obligation summaries for monthly reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum five years of experience in aircraft maintenance, warranty administration or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with repair, warranty, inventory, production and quality interfaces in the aviation industry.
• Ability to analyse large, complex data sets and interpret contract terms.
• Strong business acumen and attention to detail.
