Welder – Solar Mounting Structures

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Welder to fabricate and install solar mounting structures and related steel components for our renewable energy projects in Nairobi. The role involves hands‑on welding, fabrication, and on‑site installation work.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate solar mounting frames, brackets, supports and other steel parts according to approved drawings.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and fabrication specifications.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, drilling and metal finishing operations.
• Repair and modify existing metal structures as required.
• Assist with installation and alignment of solar mounting structures at project sites.
• Inspect fabricated components and welds to ensure quality compliance.
• Maintain welding tools and equipment in good condition.
• Follow all safety procedures, including hot‑work permits and proper use of PPE.

Required profile

• Certificate, Diploma or Trade Test in Welding, Fabrication or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication.
• Experience with steel structure fabrication; experience in solar or construction industry is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.
• Physically fit and able to work at various project sites.

Required skills

• Arc welding and other common welding techniques.
• Cutting, grinding and drilling of metal.
• Metal finishing and fabrication.
• Knowledge of welding safety standards and hot‑work procedures.
