Workshop Manager

About the role

The Workshop Manager will lead the maintenance and operation of plant equipment and machinery for a construction site. This position requires strong technical knowledge, leadership, and a proactive approach to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs as needed.
• Service specialized equipment such as diesel generators (CAT, Perkins, Kohler), water pumps, outboard engines, cranes, and construction machinery.
• Clean, lubricate, and service heavy‑duty vehicles and attachments including hydraulic horse pipes, blades, and side booms.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and manage maintenance budgets.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and generate regular reports for the Mechanical Head.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and ensure availability of supplies and tools.
• Lead and train the on‑site maintenance team and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (approximately 5 years) in workshop or plant maintenance.
• Proven ability to supervise a maintenance team and manage budgets.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with multiple departments and external vendors.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
