Site Lead – BAT

About the role

The Site Lead – BAT will oversee daily, weekly and monthly operations for the BAT client at DHL Supply Chain East Africa. The role ensures the site meets customer requirements, achieves key performance indicators and is recognised as the provider of choice.

Key responsibilities

• Implement actions to reduce or eliminate health and safety risks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Apply the Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) program daily and investigate incidents, near‑misses and non‑compliance.
• Report and manage potential risks, breakdowns and accidents to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Communicate DHL policies to frontline staff and monitor their implementation.
• Enforce security measures, follow the DSC 6‑Step security framework and mitigate identified security risks.
• Maintain up‑to‑date processes, work instructions, SOPs and associated forms to achieve prescribed outputs.
• Continuously improve procedures and update the operational training matrix as required.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and motivational skills to develop a high‑performing workforce.
• Proven ability to manage health, safety and security compliance in a warehouse environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving and incident‑investigation capabilities.
• Good communication skills to convey policies and procedures to staff.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) programs.
• Familiarity with DSC security frameworks and safety standards.
• Experience in developing and maintaining SOPs and training matrices.
