WordPress Developer – Nairobi Office

About the role

We are looking for a talented WordPress Developer to own and enhance a network of 46 WordPress sites that support a large‑scale digital ecosystem. The role is based in Riverside, Nairobi and focuses on delivering a cohesive, high‑performing platform for local stakeholders and global audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and optimise a portfolio of 46 WordPress websites.
• Develop and customise themes and plugins to meet regional and content requirements.
• Implement multilingual and localisation functionality across the network.
• Ensure all sites are fast, secure, mobile‑responsive and SEO‑optimised.
• Collaborate with designers, content teams and external partners.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain consistent performance.
• Support the development of scalable systems for large‑scale website management.
• Continuously improve usability, performance and overall site architecture.

Required profile

• Strong experience in WordPress development, including themes, plugins and custom solutions.
• Solid front‑end skills (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and proficiency in PHP and database management.
• Experience with page builders such as Elementor, Gutenberg or WPBakery.
• Understanding of SEO principles and web analytics tools.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
• Interest in digital innovation, tourism and impact‑driven projects.
