Audiovisual Technical Assistant – WAE Roster (Multiple Positions)

About the role

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is seeking multiple Audiovisual Technical Assistants for its When Actually Employed (WAE) roster. The role supports conference and client services within the ICT Service, reporting to the Senior AV Technician.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, test and operate simultaneous interpretation, public address, recording, hybrid integration, remote interpretation, wireless, captioning, web‑streaming and video‑conferencing equipment according to SOPs.
• Monitor conference KPIs, manage equipment moves, and ensure safety and procedural compliance.
• Guide external contractors on third‑party equipment installation and integration.
• Coordinate with ICT infrastructure, conference services, facilities, and security teams for seamless operations.
• Collect client feedback promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance, store management, and asset lifecycle verification.
• Handle post‑production tasks such as media asset management, video editing, tagging, archiving and distribution.
• Support conference control‑room operations, cost estimates, expenditure reporting, data analysis and dashboard creation.

Required profile

• Professionalism with strong technical aptitude for AV technologies.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and provide user support.
• Effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
