Business Development Manager

About the role

Plan International Kenya is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead resource mobilisation, grant acquisition and funding partnerships in support of its five‑year country strategy. The role will shape the 2027‑2032 Resource Mobilisation Strategy and ensure diversified, high‑quality funding for programmes that protect girls and vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for Plan International Kenya in an evolving funding landscape.
• Lead the development and implementation of the 2027‑2032 Resource Mobilisation Strategy.
• Identify funding opportunities, engage donors and partners, and build consortia.
• Design programmes and develop proposals that meet donor requirements.
• Strengthen country‑wide business development capabilities and processes.
• Collaborate with the global Plan International network to align with the organisation’s mandate.
• Navigate competitive funding environments, emphasizing value‑for‑money, sustainability and impact investment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in resource mobilisation, grant acquisition and partnership development within the development or humanitarian sector.
• Ability to design and deliver strategic fundraising plans.
• Strong understanding of market‑driven development, blended finance and impact investment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and consortium‑building skills.
