Civil Engineer – Construction & Site Supervision

About the role

We are seeking a senior Civil Engineer to lead construction and site supervision for the Magnate City development in Nairobi. The role involves overseeing all civil and infrastructure works, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day civil and infrastructure works, including earthworks, excavation, road and pavement construction.
• Ensure construction follows approved architectural, structural and civil drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities and method statements.
• Monitor contractor performance against work programmes and project milestones.
• Conduct regular site inspections, identify deficiencies and enforce corrective actions.
• Review civil and structural drawings, specifications and technical documents for constructability.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors, MEP consultants and other specialists.
• Prepare and review method statements, RFIs, inspection requests and material approvals.
• Maintain accurate as‑built records and support final handover documentation.
• Oversee quality assurance and control, including field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil and aggregates.
• Track progress, prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports and recommend mitigation for delays.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years (96 months) of civil engineering experience in construction.
• Senior‑level qualification in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience supervising large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan construction standards and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
