Communications Intern

About the role

The Communications Intern will support Helen Keller International’s Kenya country team in delivering communications that highlight the organization’s health and nutrition programs. This role involves creating knowledge products, drafting advocacy materials, and acting as a brand ambassador for the Kenya office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and format knowledge products such as policy briefs, case studies, and human‑interest stories in collaboration with program staff.
• Draft and edit articles, newsletters, and social‑media content to promote Helen Keller Kenya’s work.
• Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring brand compliance and coordinating trainings with the global team.
• Partner with the Center for Marketing and Branding to create branding materials and coordinate photography and video collection, including obtaining informed consent.
• Upload visual assets to the organization’s cloud‑based media platform and maintain an up‑to‑date shared folder for communication materials.
• Support social‑media and digital communication for country‑level visibility.
• Assist the Country Director and program team in preparing donor‑facing materials such as fact sheets, reports, and presentations.
• Track donor engagement opportunities, calls for proposals, and partnerships aligned with the Kenya strategy.
