About the role
The consultant will lead the end‑of‑programme evaluation for the Global Disability Fund Joint Programme in Kenya, working under the supervision of UNFPA and in close collaboration with the SRHR and Youth Advisor, programme specialists, and the Deputy Representative.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement an evaluation work plan aligned with the programme’s objectives and UN standards.
- Collect, analyse and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to assess programme outcomes.
- Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports, including findings, lessons learned and recommendations for future programming.
- Coordinate with the Evaluation Reference Group (ERG) to ensure technical oversight and quality assurance throughout the evaluation process.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including government entities, implementing partners and organisations of persons with disabilities, to validate findings and ensure relevance.
- Maintain documentation and data management systems in line with UNFPA and GDF requirements.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in development studies, public health, disability studies, social sciences or a related field.
- Proven experience conducting programme evaluations, preferably in disability or humanitarian contexts.
- Familiarity with UN evaluation guidelines and experience working with UN agencies.
- Strong analytical and report‑writing abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
