Dental Assistant – US Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Dental Assistant to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. You will provide chair‑side assistance, manage dental records, and ensure a safe, efficient clinic environment for service members.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate medical/dental records for all personnel, including pre‑employment exams, x‑rays, and treatment histories.
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist the dentist during procedures.
• Capture dental radiographs following safety and quality protocols.
• Provide patients with oral hygiene guidance and post‑treatment instructions.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and request replenishments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with US government regulations, infection‑control standards, and health‑safety policies.
• Facilitate government inspections of dental and medical records.

Required profile

• Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, including chair‑side assistance and dental radiography.
• Strong attention to detail in record‑keeping and documentation.
• Knowledge of infection‑control practices and equipment sterilization.
