Digital Solutions Analyst – Backend & Cloud Development

About the role

Absa is seeking a Digital Solutions Analyst to provide specialist advice and support for reliable infrastructure solutions. The role focuses on designing, developing and maintaining backend applications, APIs and cloud‑native services to enable informed decision‑making across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications, RESTful APIs and micro‑services using modern frameworks.
• Implement secure coding practices and application security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and application defects.
• Contribute to solution design, technical architecture discussions and develop cloud‑native, containerised applications.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, integrating security controls and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests, support automated testing frameworks and ensure code quality.
• Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments, leveraging container technologies for packaging and deployment.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, QA engineers and other developers in Agile ceremonies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field.
• 3–7 years of software development experience, preferably building enterprise‑grade backend solutions.
• Proven experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Hands‑on experience developing cloud‑native applications and CI/CD delivery pipelines.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and micro‑services.
