Dispatch Officer

About the role

The Dispatch Officer will support U.S. freight operations from our Nairobi office, working during U.S. business hours. The role is ideal for candidates with experience in U.S. truck dispatching or freight brokerage who can thrive in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Source and book profitable loads using U.S. load boards such as DAT One and Truckstop.com.
• Negotiate rates with brokers and shippers and dispatch trucks according to daily driver schedules.
• Monitor shipments, provide timely updates to customers and brokers, and resolve operational issues including delays, route changes, and breakdowns.
• Review and verify transportation documents (Rate Confirmations, Bills of Lading, Proofs of Delivery) and maintain accurate records in the Transportation Management System.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure complete load documentation and build strong relationships with freight brokers and customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in U.S. truck dispatching, freight brokerage, or a similar logistics role.
• Demonstrated use of DAT One, Truckstop.com or comparable U.S. load boards.
• Good understanding of FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service and Electronic Logging Devices.
• Ability to work independently during 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM EAT.

What we offer

• Contract position with a monthly salary range of $300 – $500 (USD).
