Facilities Manager

About the role

The Facilities Manager ensures the efficient operation, maintenance, safety, and utilization of the university’s physical facilities. The role coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, manages service providers and contractors, optimizes space use, supports campus events, and delivers high‑quality customer service to staff, students, visitors and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for all buildings and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lifts, generators, water and fire protection.
• Prioritize maintenance requests, monitor contractor performance, maintain accurate records, warranties and budgets, and ensure compliance with OSH, environmental and building regulations.
• Manage space allocation, conduct audits, coordinate office relocations, renovations and venue preparation for examinations, graduations and conferences.
• Oversee procurement, onboarding and contract administration of facilities service providers and verify completed works.
• Provide logistical support for university events such as graduations, seminars, VIP visits and workshops.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in facilities or property management, preferably in a university or large institutional setting.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities with excellent oral and written communication.
• Analytical, results‑oriented mindset with the ability to multitask under pressure.
• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health legislation, budgeting and cost‑control, and project management principles.
