Fashion Designer Assistant

About the role

The company is seeking an enthusiastic Fashion Designer Assistant to support the lead designer in creating seasonal collections and ensuring smooth production flow. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in design, material sourcing, and quality control within a fast‑moving garment manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing fashion concepts, mood boards and preparing design sketches, technical drawings and garment specifications.
• Source and evaluate fabrics, trims and accessories, ensuring colour consistency and suitability for each design.
• Coordinate with tailors and production staff, translating design sketches into clear technical requirements.
• Monitor production progress, inspect garments at various stages and address any design or construction issues.
• Support client consultations, record measurements and maintain accurate design and production records.
• Collaborate with designers, cutters and other team members, contributing ideas to improve design efficiency.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design or a related field.
• Up to 24 months of relevant experience or internship exposure.
• Strong eye for current fashion trends, fabrics and colour palettes.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain an organized workspace.
