Head of Education Sector

About the role

The Head of Education Sector will lead Family Bank Kenya’s strategy and growth within the education market. Reporting to senior management, the role focuses on expanding deposits, loans, and transaction volumes while building strong relationships with educational institutions and government bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Create and execute a sector strategy to identify growth opportunities in deposits, loans, and transactional services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with universities, schools, government agencies, and other education providers.
• Lead client acquisition and retention initiatives, deepening existing relationships.
• Collaborate with product teams on solutions such as fee collection, digital payments, and insurance offerings.
• Ensure all sector lending complies with risk, regulatory, and funding guidelines.
• Represent the bank at education forums and build strategic partnerships.
• Provide sector expertise, training, and cross‑team collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8‑10 years of banking experience, with at least 5 years in institutional or sector‑specific banking.
• Proven track record in large relationship management, structured lending, and sector financing.
