About the role
The Histotechnologist will join the laboratory team at AIC Kijabe Hospital, providing essential support for tissue processing, staining, and slide preparation. This full‑time, onsite position plays a critical role in delivering accurate diagnostic results for patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, process, embed, and section tissue specimens according to standard protocols.
- Perform routine and special staining techniques, ensuring high‑quality slide production.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Document all procedures and results accurately in the laboratory information system.
- Participate in quality control programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Higher Diploma in Histotechnology.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Histotechnologist.
- Strong understanding of quality control measures in a clinical laboratory.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of laboratory information systems.
- Ability to implement and monitor quality control procedures.
