Housekeeping Supervisor – NGIS Program

About the role

The NGIS Housekeeping Supervisor will lead housekeeping and custodial operations for the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites on Diego Garcia. This position ensures a high standard of cleanliness, compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting a critical U.S. Navy program.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage housekeeping and custodial staff to meet NGIS standards.
• Coordinate daily cleaning schedules, common‑area maintenance, and inventory restocking.
• Monitor quality and efficiency of cleaning services, ensuring compliance with operational guidelines.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance to maintain high service standards.
• Assign tasks and create work schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
• Utilize a hotel Property Management System (PMS) to track room status and housekeeping updates.
• Train staff on proper PMS usage for accurate room readiness reporting.
• Inspect rooms and facilities before guest occupancy to verify cleanliness and maintenance.
• Address guest complaints and housekeeping issues promptly and professionally.
• Maintain supply inventory, order supplies as needed, and ensure stock levels.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience managing hotel housekeeping or custodial operations.
• At least 1 year of college‑level education in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) for housekeeping tracking.
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities to manage multi‑functional teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
