HR Intern – HRIS Implementation & General Support

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic HR Intern to support the rollout of a new HRIS and assist with day‑to‑day HR operations in our fast‑growing tech company. This role offers a graduate the chance to gain hands‑on experience in HR systems, employee data management and general HR administration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the HRIS implementation by gathering requirements, testing features, troubleshooting issues and supporting user acceptance testing.
• Prepare, clean and migrate employee data into the new system while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date tracker of employee letters, contracts and renewal dates, flagging upcoming expirations.
• Draft standard HR correspondence such as offer letters, confirmation letters and contract renewal notices.
• Provide routine administrative support including filing, record‑keeping, data entry and assisting with onboarding and off‑boarding processes.
• Monitor the HRIS post‑launch, escalating technical problems to the vendor as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from a recognised Kenyan university.
• At least one year of experience in an HR role or internship.
• Prior exposure to HRIS systems (mandatory).
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS platforms.
• Strong command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
