Import & Export Officer

About the role

Kaziweza Limited is looking for an experienced Import & Export Officer to manage end‑to‑end international shipments. The role ensures timely clearance, accurate landed‑cost computation and compliance with Kenyan regulatory bodies while supporting pricing decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate import shipments from order placement through final delivery.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and clearing agents to secure timely clearance.
• Maintain compliance with KRA Customs (iCMS), KEBS, PVOC, Port Health, KEPHIS and other authorities.
• Prepare and verify import/export documents such as invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB and certificates of origin.
• Perform landed‑cost calculations and support pricing, discount and product‑mix analysis.
• Monitor inventory levels, prevent stock‑outs or overstocking, and work with procurement and warehouse teams.
• Negotiate terms with service providers and track supplier performance.
• Produce monthly reports on landed costs, import expenses, duty payments and stock position.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in import/export operations.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret cost drivers.
• Good knowledge of Kenyan customs regulations and HS‑code classification.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders.
