Lead - Material Planning and Control

About the role

We are looking for a Lead – Material Planning and Control to design, develop and maintain cost‑effective strategies for technical material planning, ensuring aircraft spares and services meet the production needs of Kenya Airways and its third‑party operators while complying with KCAA and other civil aviation regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Define vision, strategies, policies and procedures for aircraft material provisioning and inventory management.
• Develop and execute strategic, tactical and operational material management plans for spares, rotables and services.
• Oversee component provisioning operations and continuously review material consumption and stock availability.
• Implement inventory management processes to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Lead a high‑performing team, set objectives/KPIs and conduct performance appraisals.
• Optimize aircraft MRP, analyse spend patterns and recommend cost‑saving actions.
• Maintain relationships with internal customers and external suppliers, negotiate contracts and ensure SLA compliance.
• Develop, monitor and report on the annual material planning budget.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Experience in aircraft maintenance parts, inventory control and material planning.
• Strong analytical ability, strategic thinking and business understanding.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high integrity.
