Lecturer – Physiology

About the role

Mount Kenya University seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Physiology to join its Department of Physiology. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, curriculum development, and research activities within a vibrant academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in curriculum development and review for undergraduate, diploma and certificate programmes.
• Prepare detailed course outlines and learning materials to ensure comprehensive coverage of the syllabus.
• Deliver lectures, set and invigilate examinations, and assess student performance.
• Supervise student projects, guide thesis defenses and monitor attendance requirements.
• Conduct research, publish findings, present at conferences and attract external research funding.
• Facilitate field studies, internships and assess student performance during attachments.
• Attend departmental and university meetings, and perform administrative duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Masters of Medicine in Physiology from a recognised institution.
• MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).
• At least three years of teaching and research experience in a recognised academic institution.
• Relevant industry experience and registration with the appropriate professional body.
• PhD qualification or registration for a PhD is an added advantage.
