Marketing & Communications Lead

About the role

Our client is seeking a Marketing & Communications Lead to own and elevate the brand voice and communications strategy across Kenya and other countries of operation. The role blends strategic direction with hands‑on execution, including full‑cycle event management and coordination of SEO and social media activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the group’s marketing and communications strategy across Kenya and regional markets.
• Lead end‑to‑end event management, from concept and speaker sourcing to vendor coordination and on‑site execution.
• Mentor and manage the marketing team, setting priorities and ensuring consistent delivery.
• Align SEO and social media teams into a unified communications approach, stepping in to execute when needed.
• Oversee brand positioning and messaging across the portfolio, maintaining consistency while respecting each brand’s identity.
• Manage content creation for digital channels, marketing collateral and client‑facing materials.
• Collaborate with sales and business unit leaders to align marketing initiatives with commercial goals.
• Track and report on marketing performance and event outcomes across channels and regions.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, speakers and media partners.
• Own the marketing budget and report on campaign and event ROI.

Required profile

• Minimum 3–4 years of experience leading a marketing team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale events and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Experience developing and implementing brand and communications strategies.
• Ability to analyse performance data and present actionable insights.
