Marketing Intern

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Marketing Intern for its Global Funds Mitigation and Transparency Section within the Climate Change Division. Based remotely, the 6‑month internship offers hands‑on experience in developing and executing marketing strategies that promote UNEP products and initiatives across partner countries.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
• Create marketing materials such as presentations, social media content, flyers, infographics and other creative assets.
• Manage digital marketing activities including social media management, content development, audience engagement and social listening.
• Research target audiences, market trends and stakeholder needs to inform strategies.
• Translate complex technical information into clear, engaging marketing messages.
• Assist in planning and delivering marketing activities for workshops, conferences, launches and events.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or have completed a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor programme in marketing, business, digital media, economics, environmental science or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to use standard software (MS Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and creative tools such as Adobe Suite, CorelDRAW and Canva.
• Familiarity with social listening and management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Meltwater, Brandwatch) is desirable.
