Mid-level Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic mid‑level Accountant to join the finance team of an established accounts and tax consultancy. The role involves handling payroll, tax compliance, bank reconciliations, and general accounting tasks while supporting month‑end and year‑end closing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process PAYE tax, statutory deductions (NHIF, NSSF) and ensure timely filing with authorities.
• Maintain accurate payroll records, reconcile payroll accounts and support tax audits.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations, manage cash flow, process payments and oversee petty‑cash handling.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, reconcile supplier invoices, track customer invoices and follow up on collections.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, management reports and tax filings, including journal entries and ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and support internal and external audits.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes for greater efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA (Part II or III) or ACCA qualification is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, tax regulations and statutory deductions.
