National Consultant: GISD Kenya Work Programme & Private Sector Engagement

About the role
The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) is seeking a National Consultant to support the GISD Kenya Work Programme and drive private‑sector engagement. The consultant will work from the UN office in Nairobi for a period of seven months, delivering key deliverables that inform policy and investment decisions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the agenda and participant list for the Multistakeholder Roundtable.
- Draft and circulate concise summaries of roundtable meetings and stakeholder consultations.
- Produce a draft report with policy recommendations and an overview of identified investment opportunities.
- Finalize a comprehensive report and submit monthly progress updates.
- Coordinate with GISD Alliance members, UN Resident Coordinator’s Office, and local stakeholders to ensure alignment with the FFD4 outcomes.
- Facilitate meetings with private‑sector actors, investor alliances and civil‑society groups in Kenya.
Required profile
- Proven experience in development consulting, private‑sector engagement or investment promotion.
- Strong knowledge of the SDGs, the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development and the GISD Alliance framework.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality analytical reports and policy briefs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with fluency in English.
