Network Technician Level 2 (CCNA or equivalent) – Nairobi

About the role

The Network Technician Level 2 provides on‑site support for medium‑complexity networking equipment in Nairobi. The role combines troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of switches, routers, and telecom cabling while delivering strong customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain medium‑complexity network equipment.
• Perform low‑complexity installs, moves, repairs, uninstalls and site surveys.
• Rack, stack, install and swap network devices such as switches and routers.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Terminate, label, and test cabling for telecom circuit demarcation extensions.
• Activate telephone devices and ensure proper connectivity.
• Provide training to end‑users and fellow technicians on equipment usage.
• Escort vendors and assist with equipment verification.

Required profile

• 5–9 years of experience in network support or a similar role.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ (preferred).
• Ability to lift equipment weighing over 45 lbs.
• Basic understanding of Windows Server environments and Active Directory (advantage).

Required skills

• TCP/IP, VLAN, routing and switching concepts.
• DNS and DHCP configuration.
• Experience with Cisco or equivalent networking equipment.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
• Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
• Cabling termination, labeling and testing.
• Windows Server and Active Directory basics.
