Platform Development and Analytics Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Platform Development and Analytics Consultant to strengthen its digital solutions in Nairobi. You will work on modernising content management, improving reporting tools, and creating AI‑driven web applications that support environmental programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the MIKE Content Management System using Drupal and migrate existing content.
• Support deployment of the new system on UNICC servers.
• Enhance performance of the UNEP GEF Project Implementation Report (PIR) system.
• Prepare the GEF PIR system for FY2026 reporting, ensuring data from FY2025 is accessible and reducing repetitive entry.
• Design and build a Household Waste Categorisation web application for Lesotho leveraging artificial intelligence.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Computer Science, IT, IS or related field, or a first‑level degree with at least two years relevant experience.
• Minimum two years of progressive experience in software development, system analysis, and web technologies.
• Experience with United Nations or similar international organisations is desirable.

Required skills

• Drupal CMS development and API integration.
• MS SQL and relational database design.
• Web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, React, Python.
• Advanced programming in PHP, MVC frameworks, and Docker Hub.
• System analysis and design.
