About the role

We are looking for an experienced, results‑driven Principal Associate to join our dynamic legal practice in Nairobi. The role involves delivering high‑quality legal services on complex and routine matters across Capital Markets, M&A, Commercial & Corporate Law, and Property & Conveyancing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of transactions and legal assignments with minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Provide sound legal advice, conduct thorough research, and draft or review legal documents, especially in Capital Markets, M&A, Commercial & Corporate Law, and Property & Conveyancing.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior lawyers, offering feedback and oversight to maintain high standards.
• Collaborate with other lawyers and team members to achieve client objectives and firm goals.
• Lead legal and project management activities, meeting deadlines and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, preparing for meetings and delivering quality service.
• Participate in business development, networking events, and professional profile building.
• Scope services, quote fees, and meet billable targets while optimizing time and resources.
• Contribute to firm knowledge bases, templates, and best‑practice initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, ethical standards, and firm procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years (60 months) of relevant experience.
• Mid‑level professional capable of handling assignments independently.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and client‑service skills.
