Product Test Technician – Mobility

About the role

We are seeking a Product Test Technician to lead end‑to‑end quality control, functional testing and refurbishment of M‑KOPA Mobility electric devices in Nairobi. The role ensures every product from OEM partners meets our standards before market release and throughout its lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in‑process and outgoing QC checks on devices, components and accessories following SOPs and AQL standards, logging all defects.
• Execute standardized test plans, calibration procedures and final functional tests on sample bikes using approved fixtures and software, maintaining full traceability.
• Own the refurbishment workflow from intake triage through repair, verification testing and re‑release, ensuring parts alignment and as‑new quality.
• Consolidate defect trends into weekly OEM feedback packs, support CAPA actions and validate corrective fixes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date SOPs, work instructions, checklists and test records in Zoho, ensuring EHS, ESD and battery safety compliance.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis using 5‑Why, Ishikawa or similar methods and keep test equipment calibrated.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 2 years of experience in product testing, electronics quality control, or repair and refurbishment.
• Strong diagnostic instincts and attention to detail.

Required skills
