Programs Intern – Development Programs

About the role

The Programs Intern will support the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and documentation of Reality of Aid Africa’s programmes and initiatives, gaining practical experience in development programming and civil society engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning and implementation of programme activities, including work plans, concept notes and activity schedules.
• Conduct desk research on development cooperation, governance, financing for development and social justice, and contribute to policy briefs, reports and presentations.
• Assist in collecting and compiling programme data for monitoring, reporting and donor documentation.
• Facilitate communication with civil society organisations, development partners and government institutions, and help organise meetings, workshops and webinars.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Second Class Upper) in Development Studies, International Relations, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Project Management or related field.
• Strong research, analytical and report‑writing abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with high integrity and attention to detail.
• Interest in development cooperation, policy advocacy, governance and civil‑society strengthening.
• Good organisational, planning and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
