Project Manager / Site Engineer – Road Construction (Consultant)

About the role

MMT Alliance is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Site Engineer to lead road construction projects across Kenya on a project‑based consulting basis. The role involves overseeing all site activities from mobilisation through to hand‑over, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise road construction projects from mobilisation to completion.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor all site activities, including labour, plant, equipment and materials.
• Supervise engineers, foremen, surveyors, operators and subcontractors.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly project reports and track progress against programme milestones.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, contract requirements and government regulations.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and government representatives.
• Manage quality assurance, inspections and testing, and approve site measurements.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support commercial matters such as variations, extensions of time and progress claims.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing road construction projects.
• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of road construction methodologies, specifications and government‑funded infrastructure projects.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary construction teams and work on sites across Kenya.
• Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
