REIT Liaison Officer

About the role

The REIT Liaison Officer will act as the primary point of contact between the Trustee and all REIT‑related stakeholders. Based in Nairobi, this role ensures that the REIT operates in full compliance with regulatory requirements and that governance standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor REIT operations for compliance with CMA Act, REIT regulations, Trust Deed, prospectus and other applicable laws.
• Support the Trustee in overseeing the REIT Manager, Property Manager, Fund Administrator, Custodian, Valuers and Auditors.
• Coordinate Trustee meetings, prepare agendas, minutes and action trackers, and submit statutory reports.
• Review financial statements, operational reports, KPIs and covenant compliance; track distribution calculations and asset transactions.
• Serve as the day‑to‑day liaison with the Capital Markets Authority, custodians, auditors, legal advisors and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field.
• Minimum four years of operations experience in the banking sector.
• One or more of the following qualifications: CISI, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ACCA, Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA), Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (Level 3+), ICSA/Corporate Governance Certification, Risk Management certification.
