Research Auxiliary – Greenhouse & Field Support

About the role
The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Research Auxiliary to support hybrid breeding activities at the PQS‑Muguga station. Working under the Genetic Innovation – Public‑Private Partnership (GI‑PPP) project, you will assist CIP staff with daily greenhouse operations and field‑based breeding trials.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out routine greenhouse tasks such as watering, fertilisation, and pest monitoring.
- Provide manual assistance with crossing activities, seed extraction, and berry harvest under scientific supervision.
- Support field work including planting, weeding, watering, plot maintenance, and harvesting of plant samples.
- Assist with cleaning, sorting, labeling of harvested material and maintain tools and equipment in good order.
Required profile
- Motivated and detail‑oriented individual.
- Willingness to work hands‑on under the direction of technical staff.
- Ability to follow instructions for greenhouse and field tasks.
