Senior Learning & Development Associate

About the role

BrighterMonday Kenya is looking for a dynamic Senior Learning & Development Associate to lead the learning component of a youth skilling and employment impact project. The role focuses on improving employability of Kenyan youth, especially women, refugees and persons with disabilities, by designing and delivering soft‑skill training.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive learning and development strategies aligned with project objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and department leaders to identify project‑specific learning needs.
• Conduct needs assessments to determine skills gaps for diverse youth groups, including marginalized populations.
• Ensure learning activities are accessible and incorporate assistive techniques.
• Track learning outcomes and manage the community engagement content calendar.
• Develop instructional materials, training modules, and curricula focused on employability and soft skills.
• Coordinate training schedules and manage partnerships with training providers nationwide.
• Lead the recruitment, onboarding and management of trainers and facilitators.
• Oversee the delivery of the training workplan to meet all learning milestones.

Required profile

• Proven experience in learning and development, preferably in youth or community projects.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills with a focus on delivering training outcomes.
• Experience designing inclusive, culturally appropriate learning content.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, reporting to senior leadership.
