Software Support Engineer – Remote

About the role

As a Software Support Engineer you will act as the critical bridge between Boost Technology’s engineering team and its on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. Working remotely, you will troubleshoot technical issues, ship production code fixes, and ensure a smooth experience for thousands of informal retailers using the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Tri­age, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems by investigating root causes in the codebase.
• Develop and ship production‑ready fixes, tests, and platform enhancements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline, building automated test suites to prevent regressions.
• Collaborate with cross‑cultural teams to translate technical requirements into actionable solutions.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in an engineering, product, or technical‑support role, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Strong communication skills to bridge technical and non‑technical stakeholders across different time zones.
• Passion for digital transformation in supply‑chain and last‑mile distribution contexts.
