Venture Associate Internship – SPARK Program

About the role

The SPARK Internship offers a full‑time, on‑site opportunity for a motivated individual to support venture creation and enterprise development across East Africa. You will work closely with senior advisors to help MSMEs, farmer groups and startups grow their businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct business diagnostics and assessments for MSMEs, cooperatives and startups.
• Assist entrepreneurs in identifying growth opportunities, developing action plans and preparing basic financial analyses.
• Support venture incubation and acceleration activities, including idea validation and business model refinement.
• Carry out market research, value‑chain analyses and prepare market briefs on emerging opportunities.
• Help entrepreneurs build investment‑ready business plans, financial projections and documentation for investors or financial institutions.
• Organise entrepreneurship forums, networking events and investor‑engagement workshops.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Agribusiness Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Innovation Management, Development Studies or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship, venture creation or enterprise development.
• Experience running a business, side‑hustle, startup or student enterprise is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Interest in agriculture, agribusiness, innovation, investment or international development.
