Video Annotator – Shot Boundary Detection (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Video Annotator to work remotely on a short‑term project focused on shot‑boundary detection. You will join a team that processes video clips to create structured metadata for downstream analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Watch video clips frame‑by‑frame and identify every shot boundary.
• Create a “Shot Card” for each shot, recording start and end frames.
• Label transition types and sub‑types such as cuts, fades, dissolves, and wipes.
• Group shot cards into scene buckets based on narrative or event continuity.
• Classify video clips and scene buckets by relevant categories and genres.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in video/film editing, content creation, or video production.
• Strong understanding of shot composition, editing techniques, and transition types.
• Excellent attention to visual detail and ability to distinguish subtle cues.
• Comfortable using annotation tools and following structured labeling workflows.

What we offer

• Short‑term (8 weeks) contract
• $6 per hour
• Full‑time remote work (40 hours/week) with at least 4 hours overlap with PST
