About the role
The Advocacy & Partnerships Consultant will support UNICEF’s WASH Advocacy Plan 2026, focusing on the UN 2026 Water Conference and related youth leadership track. The role is remote‑based with a Nairobi coordination hub and lasts for eight months.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver quarterly advocacy milestones aligned with the UN Water Conference agenda.
- Implement the Youth Leadership Track, including consultations, co‑creation labs, plenary sessions, and an accountability platform.
- Develop at least six donor concept notes or proposals linked to the conference campaign.
- Prepare senior‑leader briefing packages for all UNWC milestones.
- Organise and document a minimum of five major events (briefing notes, speeches, communications).
- Produce a consolidated report on UNICEF participation at the Kigali Symposium.
- Launch an internal advocacy plan across UNICEF and create a post‑UNWC synthesis report.
- Maintain knowledge‑management tools such as shared folders, monthly updates, and a help desk.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Communications, Public Policy or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in advocacy, partnerships, or resource mobilization.
- Fluency in English.
- Proven track record in youth engagement and donor relations.
- Strong drafting, organisational, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
