Analyst, Investment Banking – Energy & Infrastructure

About the role

The Analyst will join Standard Bank Group's Energy & Infrastructure Investment Banking team, supporting the origination, structuring and execution of complex project finance and corporate lending transactions. You will gain exposure to the full deal lifecycle, from client engagement to financial close and portfolio monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial models and credit assessments for energy and infrastructure projects.
• Support transaction execution, including due diligence, documentation and closing activities.
• Conduct economic and industry research to inform deal appraisal and structuring.
• Prepare financial analysis and presentation materials for internal and client stakeholders.
• Monitor post‑close portfolio performance and identify potential risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1‑3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, project finance or a similar financial services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse data, draw insights and communicate recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and a collaborative mindset.
