Head of Finance and Payment Operations

About the role

CarePay is seeking a senior finance leader to own the company’s financial health and drive payment operations across Kenya and the Middle East. The role combines strategic financial stewardship with operational execution of money movement in a fintech‑health insurance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Kenya financial planning, reporting and analysis (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, quarterly re‑forecasting).
• Oversee statutory reporting, audits and compliance with IFRS, local tax, PAYE, withholding tax and VAT.
• Drive financial and management reporting for the licensed claims subsidiary and coordinate with group finance functions.
• Lead annual budgeting, multi‑year financial modelling and present insights to the executive team and board.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, internal controls and governance processes for a regulated fintech.
• Manage treasury, working capital, banking relationships and ensure liquidity and capital efficiency.
• Support deal structuring, pricing analysis and commercial negotiations.
• Lead and continuously improve the end‑to‑end payment operations function.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with extensive experience in fintech or health‑insurance sectors.
• Proven ability to handle complex financial environments and drive strategic initiatives.
• Trusted partner for senior leadership and capable of influencing board‑level decisions.
• Strong commercial mindset and experience in regulatory compliance.
