About the role

The Area Manager leads Concern’s programmes in Tana River County, overseeing delivery, coordination and day‑to‑day operations of field staff while ensuring compliance with organisational policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

Provide leadership for programme implementation, develop costed work plans and ensure activities are completed on schedule.
Manage a multidisciplinary team, build capacity of officers in Livelihoods, Health, Nutrition, MEL and Governance, and monitor performance against SMART objectives.
Oversee budget monitoring, authorise expenditures and report financial performance to ensure >90% spend of allocated funds.
Engage with county authorities, community leaders and partners to align projects with local needs and humanitarian standards.

Required profile

Proven experience managing multi‑sectoral development programmes in Kenya or similar contexts.
Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with ability to mentor and develop staff.
Excellent understanding of donor compliance, results‑based management and humanitarian standards.
