Assistant General Manager – Tours Division

About the role

The Assistant General Manager – Tours Division will lead day‑to‑day operations of the Tours department in Kenya, ensuring seamless execution of inquiries, quotations, reservations, costing, and client servicing. Reporting to the General Manager, the role combines operational oversight with strategic growth initiatives to drive profitability and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full booking lifecycle, from quotation and costing to reservation, confirmation, logistics and documentation.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex itineraries, service recovery and high‑value client issues.
• Supervise, mentor and develop travel consulting and operational support teams, monitoring productivity and ensuring SOP compliance.
• Oversee design, costing and execution of domestic and international tours, including VIP, corporate and MICE bookings.
• Monitor profit margins, ensure financial reconciliation of trip files and drive commercial viability of proposals.
• Own deployment, management and optimisation of the company CRM and central costing tools, enforcing data discipline and regular audits.

Required profile

• Commercially minded leader with strong operational acumen in the travel or tourism sector.
• Proven experience managing teams, workloads and performance in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to handle high‑value, complex and sensitive bookings with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate workflows, margins and profitability.

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Experience using costing and pricing tools.
