Contract Aircraft Interiors Technician

About the role

The Contract Aircraft Interiors Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation and refurbishment of aircraft cabin interiors. The role ensures that all functional and aesthetic components meet FAA regulations and safety standards while supporting production schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Perform assembly, disassembly, modification and testing of interior components such as seats, cabinets, panels, partitions, divans and in‑flight entertainment equipment.
• Interpret diagrams, drawings and work orders to create initial layouts and use hand/power tools, jigs and saws.
• Conduct continuity checks, quality inspections and serviceability tests in accordance with technical manuals and FAA guidelines.
• Position and align sub‑assemblies using measuring instruments, jigs or fixtures, and verify tolerances before sign‑off.
• Complete work‑package documentation and submit finished work to Quality Assurance for final inspection and airworthiness certification.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with mechanical/electrical experience preferred.
• 2‑4 + years of experience in aircraft interior assembly, mechanical or electrical work, or related structures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders and technical specifications.
• Journeyman‑level proficiency in standard aircraft interior repair techniques.
