About the role

The Country Medical Director will lead clinical operations for Africa Healthcare Network (AHN) across Kenya. Reporting to the Country Director and Group Deputy Chief Medical Officer, this full‑time, on‑site role ensures high‑quality, safe, patient‑centered dialysis care and drives clinical innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee multidisciplinary clinical teams to deliver consistent, high‑quality dialysis services.
• Implement and maintain clinical governance, standardized protocols, and continuous quality‑improvement initiatives aligned with international standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and cross‑functional leaders to improve patient outcomes and operational excellence.
• Act as the primary clinical representative for AHN in Kenya, strengthening patient safety practices.
• Support strategic growth of kidney‑care services through innovation and mentorship.

Required profile

• Undergraduate medical degree (MBChB, MBBS, or MD) and a postgraduate qualification in a clinical or administrative field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a clinical leadership or managerial role.
• Licensed medical practitioner in good standing with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
• Advanced understanding of clinical practice guidelines, policy development, and health data analytics.
• Strong communication, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with both clinical and non‑clinical teams and a patient‑centred attitude.

• Catheter insertion (safe and competent).
