Crane Operator / Rigger for US Navy Program

About the role

The role involves operating and rigging cranes to move materials for a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The operator will ensure safe handling of loads by configuring rigging equipment and performing inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Move materials and mobile crane to various locations safely.
• Inspect and perform operator‑level maintenance on crane and rigging components.
• Select and configure cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, shackles and sheaves based on load weight and size.
• Conduct site surveys, task analysis and lift calculations.
• Interact closely with the customer to coordinate material movements.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including travel to remote locations.

Required profile

• Minimum one year experience as a crane rigger.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 75 lb.
• Willingness to work in remote, potentially uncomfortable conditions and variable weather.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
