Elementary Tutor (K‑5) – Upper Manhattan & Bronx

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking enthusiastic Elementary Tutors to provide one‑on‑one, in‑home instruction for students in grades K‑5 across Upper Manhattan and the Bronx. Tutors help young learners build strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics and other core subjects while fostering confidence and independent study habits.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalized tutoring sessions at students’ homes.
• Support foundational skills in reading, writing, math and other elementary subjects.
• Assist with homework, study strategies, and organizational skills.
• Create individualized learning plans based on each student’s needs.
• Monitor progress and communicate regularly with families.
• Maintain a positive, engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree or teaching certification preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring elementary‑aged students.
• Strong understanding of elementary curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Reliable transportation for in‑home assignments.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
