Field Civil & Structural Engineer – Site Supervision

About the role

We are looking for a Field Civil and Structural Engineer to lead on‑site supervision of all structural works at Tatu City. The role ensures that construction complies with drawings, specifications and international standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on‑site technical expert for deep foundations, reinforced concrete, post‑tensioning systems and structural steel erection.
• Conduct daily inspections of rebar placement, formwork, concrete pouring and post‑tensioning stressing.
• Implement and enforce the project QA/QC programme, documenting inspections, tests and non‑conformances.
• Review and approve contractor submittals such as shop drawings, material certificates, concrete mix designs and method statements.
• Identify and resolve structural issues in coordination with contractors and design consultants.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and as‑built documentation.
• Champion safety practices, especially for formwork stability, work at height and crane operations, ensuring compliance with Kenyan building codes and international standards (ACI, AISC).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an internationally recognised university.
• 8–12 years of site‑based structural engineering experience on high‑rise projects.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan building codes, ACI and AISC standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
